Indirect Tax Advisor

We seek an experienced Indirect Tax Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Indirect Tax department, you will work closely with clients across the globe, providing expert guidance on VAT treatment and compliance.

Our client is a leading organization in the MENA region, seeking a skilled professional to help them navigate complex tax laws and regulations.

As an Indirect Tax Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to advise clients on identifying risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle.

  • You will advise clients on VAT treatment of new and complex transactions, helping to resolve classification or other disputes and issues with the authorities.
  • Your proactive strategies will help our clients achieve their potential in today's global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Responsibilities:
    • Work effectively as a member of a worldwide network of professional advisors, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress.
    • Collaborate with a team of VAT professionals to combine diverse cross-border transaction experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries.
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • Build a deep understanding of Customs Law and its practical application across countries.
    • Apply regional Free Trade Agreements and key customs concepts such as valuation, classification, and origin.
Requirements:
  • Strong client relationships and excellent communication skills in written and oral English.
  • Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out effective reviews, and know when to refer upwards.
  • Client-focused and commercially aware team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Project management skills, planning, prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and monitoring own budget.
