Software Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a skilled technologist to join our team as a reliability engineer.
About the Role- Develop and maintain high-quality infrastructure as code, focusing on automation and process improvement within our IS team.
- Automate software operations for reusability and consistency across private and public clouds, considering distributed systems complexities.
- Contribute to feature development, improving the resilience and scalability of our cloud and container portfolio.
- Manage operational responsibility for our core services, networks, and infrastructure.
- Develop skills in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance investigation; set up, maintain, and use observability tools; design, implement, and maintain monitoring and alerting for various systems and services.
- Collaborate with development teams to design service architecture, documentation, playbooks, policies, and operational procedures.
- Provide assistance and work with globally distributed engineering, operations, and support peers.
- Bear final responsibility for time-critical escalations.
- Deep experience defining operations in code, using version control, peer review, and CI/CD to roll out changes to applications and infrastructure.
- Strong modern engineering background, including peer-review, unit testing, SCM, CI/CD, Agile.
- Python software development experience with large projects.
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Affinity with Linux storage, from Ceph to databases.
- Hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux servers.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in computer science or related engineering field.
- Clear and effective communication in English (email, chat, video/voice, and in-person).
- Motivated and able to troubleshoot from kernel to web, willing to ask for help when appropriate.
- Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to fast-changing environments.
- Be inspired by fast-changing environments and comfortable working within distributed teams.
- Passionate about open-source, especially Ubuntu or Debian.
