Our school is committed to providing a high-quality, international education for students in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are a selective, coeducational, independent Nursery-through-Year 13 school. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some adaptations to the local context and offers IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC examinations. While the language of academic instruction is English, we are a truly international school, and our pupils and staff come from over 82 different nationalities. The school has 2900 students on roll aged 3-18.

We are seeking an outstanding Lead Teacher of Biology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering Biology across KS3-KS5, to GCSE and A level students. They will be responsible for creating engaging lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. They will also assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.

As a Lead Teacher of Biology, you will play a key role in establishing a positive learning environment where students feel valued and supported. You will work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students. You will also contribute to the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience.

The successful candidate will have a degree and PGCE or B.Ed or the equivalent, with a minimum of two years post-qualification teaching experience. They must be a specialist in Biology from GCSE up to A Level. They will also have confidence with the use of ICT in teaching, enhanced disclosure from the DBS or equivalent, and a commitment to the welfare of all children. They must have high expectations and aspirations for all students, a commitment to the overall development of young people, and an open-minded approach to their work, willing to learn and develop.
