**Job Title:** Learning Assistant

About the Role:

This position is located in one of two locations. As a learning assistant, you will be responsible for performing administrative tasks such as attendance records, filing, scheduling, and reviewing assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support educational efforts in the Special Education classroom and general education classroom as needed.
  • Work with students in accordance with plans developed by the specialist and educator.
  • Monitor students during various phases of the school day.
  • Prepare instructional materials related to classroom lessons.
  • Accompany and supervise students on field trips.
  • Grade and provide testing results using identified scoring techniques.
  • Provide tutoring to students in all subject areas.

Requirements:

  • You must meet the minimum requirements of U.S. citizenship and direct deposit of pay.
  • A background investigation may be required.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Qualifications:

To qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience:

One year of general experience is required. General experience includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of an Educational Aid / Educational Aid (Kindergarten) / Educational Aid (Sure Start).

Education:

Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university are also accepted.

Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position. You will be evaluated based on your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and Media, Interpersonal Skills, Standards, and Teaching Others.
