About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Credit and Collections Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining proper credit procedures throughout the hotel in accordance with both local and company policies and procedures.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and mail statements for outstanding C/L accounts at least twice per week.
  • Answer guest and credit card inquiries concerning accounts, including documentation and preparation of adjustments if necessary on a timely basis.
  • Ensure all Travel Agent payments are properly reviewed/verified, audited, and that payments are not made for non-commissionable transactions and the Travel Agent is eligible to receive payment.
  • Review group and catering contracts to establish understanding of billing arrangements and follow up on deposits and prepayments.
  • Assist the Income Auditor, if necessary, in reconciling the City Ledger totals.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure balances agree to the outstanding credit card balance per the credit card reconciliations.
  • Update credit card reconciliations on a daily basis to ensure agreements to transmissions and receipts.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting is required.
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
