The role of a SCIF Security Officer is to provide professional services in support of the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands.

- Support G-2 Special Security Office: Support the G-2 Special Security Office with operational tasks.
- Execute All Security Tasks: Execute all security tasks at the SCI level, including physical, personnel, and information security.
- Manage SCIF Operations: Manage SCIF operations and administration, maintaining records and accreditation documents.
- Oversee SCI Material Handling: Oversee SCI material handling, including accounting, storage, and disposal.
- Report Violations and Incidents: Report violations, security incidents, and conduct risk assessments.
- Provide Expert Security Support: Provide expert security support, including intelligence community security and SCI access adjudication using DISS and NBIS.
- Certifications: Meet certification requirements under OPNAVINST 2201.4, DoD Instruction 8523.01, and Air Force Manual 17-1301.
- Security Clearance: Possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Education: Have ten years of military experience.
- Travel Requirements: Be able to travel overseas and work in various countries within CENTCOM AOR.
The SCIF Security Officer will be based at the 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Task Force 51/5, Naval Support Activity Bahrain, Manama, Bahrain.
