Senior Spa Therapist - A Rewarding Career in Massage Therapy

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Spa Therapist to provide advanced therapeutic massage treatments tailored to client needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Massage Techniques: Perform a wide range of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, facial treatment, and trigger point therapy.
  2. Client Assessment: Assess clients' physical condition and symptoms to recommend appropriate treatment plans.
  3. Mentorship: Mentor junior massage therapists, offering guidance, training, and support.
  4. Client Records: Ensure client records are accurately maintained with confidentiality.
  5. Wellness Programs: Assist in developing wellness programs and treatment protocols.
  6. Hygiene and Safety: Uphold and model high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer care.
  7. Continuing Education: Stay current with industry trends and continuing education to enhance skills.
  8. Treatment Menus: Provide input on treatment menus, products, and service enhancements.
  9. Operational Support: Support operational needs such as scheduling, inventory checks, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  1. Certification: Certified and licensed massage therapist (as per local/state requirements).
  2. Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional massage therapy experience.
  3. Modalities: Proven expertise in multiple massage modalities and therapeutic techniques including hydrotherapy.
  4. Anatomy and Physiology: Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  5. Mentoring: Previous experience mentoring or supervising other therapists is a plus.
  6. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  7. CPR/First Aid: CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on the setting).

Work Environment:

  1. Workplace: Workplace in a wellness center/resort spa.
  2. Physical Demands: Requires physical stamina and ability to be on your feet or performing treatments for extended periods.
  3. Hours of Operation: May include evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts based on facility hours.
