About The Role

The Financial Operations Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the financial records within the finance operations department. This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, supporting accounts payable operations, performing month-end close activities, and supporting financial reporting processes.

Main Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Maintaining the general ledger for the Company including subsidiaries, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and ledger analysis.
  2. Ensuring adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial data.
  3. Supporting the month-end close process, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  4. Reviewing and finalizing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
  5. Supporting financial reporting activities, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company policies.
  6. Collaborating with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings or inquiries.
  7. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of general ledger processes.
  8. Implementing best practices and streamlining workflows to optimize resource utilization and minimize errors.
  9. Providing training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills in accounting and finance.
  10. Staying updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and sharing knowledge with the team.
  11. Collaborating with other departments, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data.
  12. Ensuring invoice processing and payments maintain accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  13. Maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns related to accounts payable transactions.
  14. Identifying opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes and improve efficiency through automation, standardization, and best practices while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  15. Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting related to GL/accounts payable.
  16. Performing any other related tasks as requested.
