At Mackenzie Jones, our clients seek a seasoned professional to fill the position of Senior Credit Officer. This role requires a Bahraini or KSA National with extensive experience in lending and credit-related fields.

Main Scope of Duties:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for approval of credit applications, transactions, exceptions, and other extensions of credit within their delegated authority and according to bank policies and procedures.
  • They will ensure that the bank's overall credit underwritings are aligned with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • The Senior Credit Officer will work closely with the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to establish and maintain a strong risk management culture, promoting thorough analysis, sound judgment, and integrity of processes and decisions.
  • They will monitor and manage the credit portfolio under their direct responsibility, aiming to sustain high credit quality and minimize non-performing loans.
  • The candidate will participate in coaching and training of credit officers, products specialists, and relationship managers on an ongoing basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a Bahraini or KSA National.
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant lending and credit-related experience, with the last three years in a credit approval role.
  • Appropriate risk training, including early problem recognition and remedial management courses.
  • Experience in different business, functional, and geographic environments.
  • Sound knowledge of customer, industry, and product ranges.
  • Remedial management experience.
  • An acceptable track record regarding individual exposures and/or portfolios.
Risk Management Skills:
  • Solid understanding of credit policies and practices, with the ability to apply them in practice.
  • Familiarity with macroeconomic factors, country/sovereign risks, and policies.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management techniques and risk rating policies.
  • Understanding of the legal environment and documentation requirements.
