Are you a seasoned engineering manager with a passion for open-source software, Linux, and containerization? We're looking for an expert to shape the future of Linux on small systems, desktops, and embedded devices.

As a senior engineer, you'll lead a team of developers to design and implement Ubuntu Core system software on various CPU architectures, including ARM, RISC-V, and X86. You will meet stakeholders, prioritize requests, plan the roadmap, and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a distributed team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles by directly contributing toward your team's goals
  • Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  • Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop great engineering and organizational practices
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with company values
  • Collaborate with other leaders in the organization
Requirements:
  • You love technology and working with brilliant people
  • Curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable
  • Passionate about software development, Linux, and open-source software
  • Proven experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers
  • Experience with Golang, C/C++, and Shell programming languages
  • Solid understanding of Linux and a modern GNU/Linux distribution
