Petroleum Geologist Expert

A Senior Geologist at Bapco Upstream is responsible for leading geological projects and developing comprehensive geological models to enhance prospect inventories and reserves portfolio.

• Integrate various data sets, including well data, rock analysis, seismic and non-seismic interpretations, to build conceptual petroleum systems models.
• Evaluate and update basin models through integration of diverse data sets.
• Analyze and interpret well data, including wireline logs, mud and gas logs, and rock analysis studies.
• Develop structural and stratigraphic models for reservoirs and plays of interest.
• Conduct sedimentological and mineralogical analysis on available data and develop depositional models for various formations and reservoirs.
• Propose and oversee core, cuttings and fluid lab analysis studies to understand various plays and reservoirs.
• Assess geological risk for leads, prospects and plays.
• Predict resources volumetric estimations using deterministic and statistical techniques.
• Evaluate drilling locations for exploration and appraisal wells.
• Support geologists during drilling operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Geosciences, Earth sciences or related discipline with specialization in geology and/or sedimentogy.
• 15+ years of experience in applied geology in the oil industry.
• Experience in exploration settings is highly preferred.
• Experience in unconventional plays is highly preferred.
• Diverse structural settings (extensional, strike-slip, compressional) are preferred.
