System Administrator Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:

The System Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of an organization's computer systems. This includes installing and configuring software and hardware, managing on-premises and cloud servers and storage, and maintaining Active Directory.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and configure software and hardware to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud servers and storage to ensure data security and integrity.
  • Administer Active Directory to provide secure access to authorized personnel.
  • Configure and manage Windows & Linux server OS to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Manage Microsoft Office365 Admin account to facilitate seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Manage AWS accounts to ensure efficient and secure cloud computing services.
  • Setup accounts and workstations to facilitate easy access and use.
  • Monitor system performance and maintain systems according to requirements to prevent downtime and errors.
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages to ensure prompt resolution and minimize impact.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and antivirus server to protect against cyber threats.
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Setup new users and give them access to the intranet to facilitate collaboration and communication.
  • Manage and maintain file servers to ensure secure and efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Employ the latest security protocols to protect against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
  • Experience with servers, storage devices, and patch management.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
  • BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and AWS certified) is a plus.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in system administration and technical support.
Required Skills:
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing) and preferably Arabic.
  • Microsoft MCSE certification or similar.
  • Linux (RHCSA) certification or similar.
  • AWS certification is a plus.
  • Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Patient and professional demeanor, with a can-do attitude.
