The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help patients of all ages achieve independence in daily living and work-related activities. The role involves working with patients with physical, developmental, social, or emotional challenges to enhance functional performance and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine functional limitations, abilities, and treatment needs; develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, coordination, self-care, and vocational skills; recommend, prescribe, and train patients in adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, home programs, and lifestyle modifications; monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge reports accurately and timely; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in case discussions, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to professional, ethical, and hospital standards of practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution; valid license/registration to practice in Bahrain.
  • 2-5 years of clinical experience (rehabilitation, hospital, or long-term care preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-care skills; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in documentation and electronic medical records.
