Amana Healthcare provides long-term care for adult patients with complex medical needs in an inpatient setting. Multidisciplinary care will be provided though intensive care unit (ICU) physicians, geriatricians, nurses, therapists, and a patient & family experience team who work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for those patients. It also offers specialized rehabilitation for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation following a life-altering event, such as stroke, brain injury, spine injury, joint replacement, or amputation.
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated ICU/In-Patient Nurse to join our team at our Long-Term Care (LTC) and Rehabilitation Hospital. The nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, monitoring critical conditions, and supporting patients through recovery and rehabilitation. This role requires clinical expertise, strong decision-making, and a patient-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in ICU and in-patient units, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage ventilators, IVs, and other advanced medical equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Support patients through rehabilitation plans, assisting with mobility, therapy participation, and daily living activities.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery goals, and ongoing care needs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies.
- Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families in high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required; Registered Nurse (RN) license [state-specific].
- Minimum 4
–6 years of experience
in ICU, in-patient care, or rehabilitation settings preferred. - Strong clinical skills in critical care, post-acute care, and patient rehabilitation support.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and adaptable to a multidisciplinary environment.
