Security Management Specialist

The Security Management Specialist (5th MEB) provides security management and oversight of sensitive programs at 5th MEB, including personnel, OPSEC, and information protection requirements. This role implements security programs, manages clearance eligibility, ensures SCI program compliance, provides staff security training, and supports audits and incident response reviews. With 3–5 years of DoD security management experience, the specialist applies knowledge of security directives, personnel vetting, and program compliance to safeguard 5th MEB operations. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Implement security programs protecting personnel, facilities, and information.
- Manage clearance eligibility and ensure SCI program compliance.
- Conduct training and security awareness sessions for staff.
- Support audits, inspections, and incident response reviews.
- Assist with OPSEC planning and implementation.
- Maintain compliance with DoD and USMC security directives.
Supplemental Duties:
- Assist in drafting and updating security SOPs and policies.
- Support coordination with DCSA, DIA, and other oversight agencies.
- Contribute to after-action reviews of security incidents or audits.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain security documentation and clearance eligibility records.
- Ensure proper archiving of incident reports and audit findings.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None, but may provide oversight for security support staff as assigned.
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in DoD security management.
- Experience as an FSO or Government Security Manager highly desirable.
- Knowledge of personnel, OPSEC, and information security management practices.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
Additional Skills:
- Strong understanding of DoD and USMC security directives and compliance requirements.
- Ability to develop and deliver security training programs.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with leadership and external agencies.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Location:
Primary workplace is with 5th MEB, Bahrain, with coordination responsibilities across MARCENT facilities.
Work Environment:
Secure facility environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Includes regular coordination with oversight agencies and MARCENT leadership.
Physical Demands:
Primarily office work with occasional inspections and physical checks of facilities. May require handling of classified material and related equipment.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600.
Flexibility may be required for inspections, security incidents, or audits.
License and Other Requirements:
Valid U.S. Driver's License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).
