COST ACCOUNTANT PROFILE

Product Costing: Calculate the cost of raw materials (gold, diamonds, gemstones), labour, and overheadfor each jewelry item. Establish and update standard costing models for various jewelry categories (gold,diamond, custom pieces).

Cost Monitoring & Control: Track and report material consumption, gold weight loss, wastage, and recovery fromproduction. Analyze cost variances (actual vs. standard) and identify reasons for deviations.

Inventory & Valuation: Maintain accurate cost records of raw materials and finished goods. Assist in inventory valuation and reconciliation across stores, factory, and showrooms.

Pricing Support: Provide cost inputs to support competitive and profitable product pricing. Evaluate impact of gold rate changes and making charges on product margins.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparation of cost budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor actual costs vs. budgets and highlight potential overruns.

Compliance & Audit: Ensure costing processes comply with company policies and regulatory standards. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary cost data and documentation.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce

• Professional certification such as CMA / CA Inter is an added advantage.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the jewelry, retail, or manufacturing sector.

• Strong knowledge of gold/diamond valuation, wastage norms, and making charges

• Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and integrity in financial reporting
