The Civil (Estimation/QC) Engineer supports pre-construction and execution phases by assisting in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, procurement, and site quality control. The role involves both office-based and site-based tasks under the supervision of senior engineers, making it ideal for early-career engineers seeking to gain experience in bidding, project pricing, and construction quality assurance. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assist in preparing quantities take-off from drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Support cost estimation by gathering rates, material specifications, and vendor quotes.
  • Review tender documents, highlight scope items, and assist in preparing comparison sheets.
  • Coordinate with procurement for pricing and technical evaluation of materials.
  • Help implement and monitor project-specific quality control plans.
  • Conduct basic site inspections under supervision to ensure work is performed as per standards and approved drawings.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities, material inspections, and QC checklists.
  • Support review of subcontractor submittals and track approvals in coordination with the QCM.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and assist in closing non-conformities.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to gain understanding of codes, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Attend technical meetings, safety inductions, and training sessions as assigned.
  • Be a positive team member and engage the project management office (PMO) and project teams (Site) when needed and provide support as required.

Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.
  • 0–3 years of experience in civil estimation or quality control (internships count).
  • Strong academic record with solid engineering fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, and site execution workflows.
  • Clear English communication, analytical mindset, and high attention to detail.
