The role overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Deputy MLRO

to support the compliance and AML function of our regulated tokenization platform. The ideal candidate will have experience in crypto, fintech, or other regulated financial institutions, with a solid understanding of AML/CTF regulations, blockchain-related risk, and international best practices.

This is a critical role supporting the MLRO in ensuring the firm's compliance with applicable laws, regulatory obligations, and internal policies, especially in the context of tokenized assets, digital wallets, and crypto transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the MLRO in overseeing the firm's AML/CTF framework, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and risk-based due diligence.
• Conduct detailed CDD, and EDD reviews for individual and institutional clients
• Assist in drafting and maintaining internal AML policies, risk assessments, and compliance manuals.
• Monitor transaction flows and work with blockchain analytics tools to assess risks.
• Prepare and submit internal Suspicious Transaction Reports, and assist in filing reports to regulatory authorities as needed.
• Support the CCO/MLRO in regulatory audits, inspections, and correspondence with the Central Bank of Bahrain
• Stay updated on emerging AML trends in the crypto and fintech space, including FATF guidance, VASP regulations, and blockchain-related typologies.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and legal teams to ensure ongoing compliance during product development and client onboarding.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field; AML or Compliance certifications preferred (e.g., CAMS, ICA).
• 2- 4 years of experience in AML/Compliance in a crypto exchange, fintech, or VASP.
• Strong knowledge of crypto compliance, blockchain analytics tools, and international AML standards.
• Familiarity with FATF recommendations, travel rule, CDD/EDD, and risk indicators in the virtual asset space.
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Experience in dealing with regulators or preparing for regulatory reviews is an advantage.
