To drivea Passenger Carrying Vehicle in a safe and professional manner, to thestandards required, in order to convey Customers along pre -determined routes inaccordance with agreed time schedules. Professional Bus Drivers are required toundertake their duties and responsibilities in a safe, reliable and courteousmanner, with high levels of customer services. Main responsibilities• Todrive on pre -determined routes, in accordance with detailed information on dutyboards and rosters, and effectively maintain appropriate time schedules.• Tocontrol customer loading and ensure the legal capacities are not exceeded.• Topick up and set down customers at bus stops with due care for their safety asthey board and alight the bus.• Tostop for intending customers and company officials where indicated either atofficial bus stops by external signs or by request on 'Hail and Ride' sectionsof route only.• Tocheck vehicles for lost property and hand this to the appropriate staff memberin accordance with company procedures.• Toensure that the bus is roadworthy by doing a complete walk round check on thevehicle and completing the Vehicle Condition Report, in accordance with companytraining and procedures.• To usethe on -bus radio in a professional manner for the purpose of conveyinginformation or seeking advice.• Tofollow company procedures in the event of breakdowns, accidents and emergencies• To befully conversant with any company vehicle to be driven, once vehicle typetraining has been provided• To setall destination blinds to ensure that the information displayed is correct andlegible• Toinput fare information into the electronic ticket machine, issue tickets,inspect and record passes including return tickets.• Tocheck the validity of travel cards, tickets and passes, and to withdraw thosesuspected as being invalid, in accordance with company procedures• Totreat customers in a courteous and professional manner, and be alert, careful,considerate and helpful at all times during the journey.• Toconform to all rules and regulations as laid down in the Road Traffic Act andby company procedures, rules and regulations.• Tofollow instructions of any company official.• To useramps as required to allow access/egress to the vehicle by disabled/elderly ormobility impaired customers.• Alldriving staff must adhere to all of the relevant health, safety, security &environment policies; and be familiar with all defined operational procedures,rules and requirements. When operating a bus, all drivers must have in hisimmediate possession his valid bus driver license and ID card, as well as hisswipe card required to operate the vehicle. The driver on the bus has owner'srights and responsibilities and must be trained in First Aid. The driver mustdrive in an economic and safe way which enables environmental benefits such asfuel -saving driving.• Alldriving staff must be familiar with public transportation in Bahrain, includingmeans, lines, connections and tariffs. All drivers must treat passenger safetyand comfort as a priority and maintain a focused friendly and service -orientedattitude. All drivers must be willing to undertake internal driver training. RequirementsRequired education & qualifications• Musthave held a clean and valid 5 years Bahrain or GCC light license • With minimum 5 years driving experience •Intermediate or secondary level education with either academic or vocationalqualifications • 25 to 55 years old • Heavy driving license/experience is an added advantage.
