Role Description The Director role at ZOHO.
VC is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. The Director will lead investment activities, including sourcing early-stage B2B and deeptech startups, assessing business and technical viability, conducting due diligence, and structuring co-investment deals. This role includes building and nurturing relationships with founders, industry experts, and co-investors, as well as representing ZOHO.
VC at ecosystem events and within accelerator and incubator programs. The Director will oversee portfolio support, guiding founders on strategy, product-market fit, go-to-market, and fundraising, while contributing to the overall investment thesis and operational processes of the firm. Day-to-day work will involve close collaboration with the leadership team, regular portfolio reviews, and continuous refinement of sourcing channels and program partnerships. Qualifications
• Proven experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate innovation, or startup leadership, with exposure to early-stage B2B and deeptech companies.
• Strong skills in investment evaluation and due diligence, including market analysis, financial modeling, and assessment of technology and product viability.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with founders, industry experts, co-investors, and ecosystem partners, with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinking and operational capability to support portfolio companies in areas such as business strategy, go-to-market, and organizational development.
• Clear, concise communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
• Track record of working on-site in collaborative environments, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor team members.
• Familiarity with deeptech fields (e.g., AI, hardware, industrial tech, SaaS infrastructure) and an interest in “building the unbuilt.”
• Advanced degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience in investment or startup ecosystems is highly valued.
