ABOUT THE ROLE

The integration of strategy, policy, and communications—both in the design and execution of programmes—is central to our philosophy.

We are seeking experienced government experts to lead projects that combine expertise from various disciplines, including strategic communications, capacity building, public policy, and international relations with geopolitical insight, to deliver results for our clients.

Projects vary based on client needs and typically involve developing strategies, providing communication advisory, implementing integrated communication programmes, designing and building high-performing communications functions, or delivering impactful public policy solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leading the work: Planning and managing daily client interactions, including regular travel to provide integrated, high-quality solutions.
2. Building client relationships: Gaining trust and providing insightful analysis and advice that clients value.
3. Leading the Consulum team: Ensuring team members understand the mission, roles are clear, work is of high quality, and performance standards are met. A key leadership aspect is to support team members' skill development and career progression.

1. Achieving commercial outcomes: Delivering agreed scope, identifying opportunities for additional work, and persuading clients to engage Consulum further.
2. Business development: Collaborating with the team to generate leads, develop proposals, and deliver pitches.

• Software skills: PowerPoint skills are a plus but not essential.

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in strategy, communications, or policy, including work in or with government or public sector organizations.
• Ideal backgrounds include government, public sector, management consultancy, communications consultancy, charities, and think tanks.
• Experience in organizational and HR functions such as recruitment, training, team building, establishing new work methods, leadership development, systems and process design, and policy development.
• Proven ability in client relationship management and engaging with senior stakeholders.
