Job Title: Planning Engineer
Job Description:
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules and production timelines for fabrication and assembly operations. Working within the oil and gas industry, this role ensures effective project planning, progress tracking, and reporting in coordination with engineering, procurement, and production teams. The Planning Engineer supports timely and cost-effective project execution using Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop weekly and monthly production schedules based on job status and resource availability using Primavera P6.
- Monitor and update project timelines, progress charts, and reports to ensure on-time delivery and efficiency.
- Collaborate with fabrication and engineering teams to align production activities with planning outputs.
- Analyse systems and workflows to optimize resource allocation and reduce project delays.
- Update schedule data and generate progress slides and reports as directed by the planning superintendent.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
- Min. 5 years of experience in planning within the oil and gas or heavy fabrication industry.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and other job scheduling tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for fabrication and assemblies.
- Knowledge of time studies and industrial engineering norms.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
