Diagnostic Technician Job DescriptionKey Competencies

Essential Job Functions
  1. Diagnose and Repair: Accurate diagnosis, repair within reasonable timeframe
  2. Diagnostic Work: Various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical)
  3. Preventive Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance, fluid changes, lubrications
  4. Record Keeping: Accurate maintenance records
  5. Troubleshooting: Identify causes, recommend repairs
  6. Paperwork and Procedures: Document repairs, order parts, bill
  7. Quality Control: Final operational tests
  8. Cross-Functional Support: Perform duties of Repair, Maintenance Technicians
  9. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety regulations
  10. Flexibility and Adaptability: Support customer service, business needs
Qualifications
  1. Education: Vocational/Technical degree in Automotive Services
  2. Experience: 3+ years training, certifications from Technician Trainee, Maintenance, Repair Technician roles
  3. Preferred Training: Auto Electricity, Scanner/On-Board Diagnostics II, Lab Scope Diagnostics
  4. Key Knowledge: Engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems
  5. Certifications: Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Engine Repair, Electrical/Electronic Systems
Additional Requirements
  1. Language Skills: English, Arabic preferred
  2. Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic, compute rate, ratio, percent
  3. Physical Demands: Stand, walk, use hands, lift/move up to 20KG, 35KG
  4. Work Environment: 60 hours/week, overtime, Saturdays, evenings (Ramadan)
  5. Miscellaneous: Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, compliance with internal policies, background check, medical
