The Legal/Compliance Group has an opening for a Compliance Investigator (Eastern Hemisphere) position, based in Bahrain, reporting to the Senior Compliance Investigations Manager (based in Switzerland). The role involves responsibilities related to the Investigations function within the Weatherford Legal/Compliance & Investigations group, emphasizing compliance with Weatherford's Code of Business Conduct, Anti-Corruption Standards, Conflicts of Interest Standards, and anti-corruption laws such as the FCPA and UK Bribery Act.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute internal investigations independently, focusing on WFRD's compliance standards and policies.
  • Coordinate with other functions to report findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify and evaluate compliance risk areas and suggest remediation actions.
  • Assist in country compliance reviews/audits and desktop audits of global operations.
  • Prepare investigative reports and financial analyses for management.
  • Help identify and address process gaps and non-compliant conduct.
  • Design and deliver investigations training to non-Compliance investigators.
  • Support other compliance projects as needed.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience leading internal investigations and managing related caseloads.
  • Knowledge of FCPA & UK Bribery Act principles and practices.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
  • Strong research, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, multitasking, and project management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion handling sensitive matters, understanding privilege issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and experience with case intake databases like EthicsPoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% internationally.

Preferences

  • In-house/corporate compliance or legal experience.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and forensic accounting experience.
  • Experience working with outside counsel or consultants.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, and electronic data review tools like Relativity or Nuix.
  • Experience in the oil & gas industry and litigation background.

Education

Required: University degree in Legal or Finance.

Preferred: J.D., formal investigative/legal training, forensic accounting training, proficiency with JDE/SAP.

Other Requirements

  • Fluency in Arabic.
  • Minimum 5 years of legal, compliance, or investigations experience.
  • At least 3 years supporting or leading fraud or anti-corruption investigations.

Preferred: Additional language skills (French, Italian, Spanish, German, Mandarin).
