Senior Utility Design Engineer

Bahrain

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Utility Design Engineer to join our team In this role, you will oversee the review of requirements associated with PMC roles for design reviews.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Utility Engineer will be responsible for reviewing requirements associated with PMC roles to provide design reviews.
  • Coordinate closely with the Lead Designer and/or Design Director, leading analysis, synthesis, and recommendation of conceptual design alternatives to establish and communicate the design vision for landscape architectural projects.
  • Supervise the preparation, design, and presentation of high-quality urban design concept drawings and reports.
  • Supervise the preparation of technical design packages through to tender and monitor construction quality.
  • Have basic experience in creating utility cross sections per local authority requirements in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, and internal/external team members including master planners, architects, urban designers, specialist designers, engineering disciplines, and quantity surveyors.
  • Plan, program, and delegate tasks within the team, and participate in workflow reporting and planning.
  • Provide high-level liaison with Clients and their representatives.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of design review outputs in line with schedules and plans.
  • Participate in technical reviews, progress reporting, and liaise with internal clients, providing update reports as needed.
  • Coordinate submission of reviews, deliverables, and approvals according to contract requirements.
  • Report deviations and issues to the Project Director or designated leader.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Quality policies, providing design advice and liaising across departments.
  • Communicate professionally with all project personnel.
  • Follow Design review principles, ensuring personal responsibility for design outputs and adherence to standards.
  • Review and recommend approval of design standards proposals for contractor compliance.
  • Assist in preparing responses to design-related clarifications from contractors.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the review of utility drawings and designs, with increasing responsibility; at least 5 years in Bahrain/GCC.
  • Experience managing teams in established Architecture/Engineering firms or on the client side.
  • Proven leadership and delivery capabilities.
  • Advanced engineering knowledge, familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D), and other utility engineering software; knowledge of Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS is preferred.
