Job brief
We are looking for a Hostess to be the first point of contact for the guests.

Responsibilities

  1. Greets guests in a courteous and professional manner
  2. Communicate with other staff, informing them of clients' bookings, needs, requests, allergies, and special events
  3. Recognise 'Key people', Shareholders, Regulars, etc.
  4. Respect the restaurant's Reception Sequence of Service
  5. Draw up client bookings for tables and ensure that tables are set before clients' arrival, keeping the floor plan updated to maximise the bookings
  6. Manage the front desk by receiving incoming calls, greeting, and attending to customers while always remembering restaurant standards
  7. Inform guests about the availability of tables and direct them to the tables
  8. Collaborate with other restaurant staff and the management team to ensure that customer complaints (floor and online) are properly attended to in a timely manner
  9. Check restaurant emails and respond accordingly, drawing the attention of management to certain emails when necessary
  10. Control reservations to maximize the number of covers
  11. Process all reservation enquiries via telephone, or Sevenrooms booking system and Opentable
  12. Confirm all reservations of over 6/8 guests with Manager on duty before accepting reservation
  13. Confirm next day reservations by telephone and proceed to allocate the right tag on the booking system
  14. Retrieve information on reservation availability from the system
  15. Cancel, amend, and confirm existing reservations
  16. Your look needs to be always impeccable following the restaurant's standards of personal appearance
  17. Provide a clear handover during shift changes
  18. Timely and effective communication of all guest information such as reservation notes, birthdays, allergies, and special comments to the Manager on duty
  19. Report all security issues to the Manager on duty

Requirements and skills

  1. Previous work experience as a Hostess
  2. Excellent communication skills
  3. Must be able to work a variety of shifts including holidays, weekends, evenings, etc.
