As Expansions Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, launching, and scaling Malaeb's presence in new markets. You'll own the end-to-end expansion strategy — from market research and pitch acquisition to local team recruitment and go-to-market execution. This is a high-impact, fast-moving role for someone who thrives in building from the ground up.

  • Research and analyze new markets for expansion across the GCC, MENA, and beyond
  • Build and present business cases for launching in target cities, including competitive landscape, user potential, and revenue forecasts
  • Develop go-to-market plans tailored to each city or country, aligned with Malaeb's brand and goals
  • Identify and onboard new sports venues and facilities in the target market (football, padel, and beyond)
  • Build strong relationships with pitch owners and operators to secure partnerships and exclusivity
  • Collaborate with operations and product teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process for venues
  • Source, hire, and train local ambassadors or city managers to support operational needs on the ground
  • Set clear goals and accountability frameworks for new hires to ensure early traction and adoption
  • Create playbooks and knowledge-sharing processes to standardize market rollouts
  • Manage the full lifecycle of city launches, from preparation to first bookings
  • Partner with marketing to activate the local community through social campaigns, events, and local influencers
  • Track KPIs (e.g. venue activation, user acquisition, bookings, retention) to optimize market entry strategies
  • Analyze market-specific data and provide insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Identify blockers and propose solutions to accelerate growth or improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with product and tech teams to prioritize localization or market-specific features
Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities: Market Strategy & Entry
  • Research and analyze new markets for expansion across the GCC, MENA, and beyond
  • Build and present business cases for launching in target cities, including competitive landscape, user potential, and revenue forecasts
  • Develop go-to-market plans tailored to each city or country, aligned with Malaeb's brand and goals
Pitch Network Expansion
  • Identify and onboard new sports venues and facilities in the target market (football, padel, and beyond)

Local Team Recruitment & Onboarding

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 4–6 years of experience in business expansion, operations, partnerships, or similar roles (startup or marketplace experience preferred)
  • Proven track record of launching new markets or products from scratch
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities
  • Highly analytical with the ability to build and interpret market models and dashboards
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong advantage
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support local market launches
  • Familiarity with the sports ecosystem, particularly grassroots football or padel
