Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in ICT/Networks/Computer Engineering or related fields.

Experience:

  • 1+ years as a NOC Engineer.

Skills:

  • Experience with various computing systems and technologies.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to configure VOICE user devices such as ATA, IP phones, SIP phones, mobile dialers, and SIP dialers.
  • Expertise in Windows client operating systems and centralized management and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and other access UTM devices.
  • Proven ability to provide technical support and resolve issues with unfamiliar software and hardware.
  • Ability to generate and maintain clear technical documentation and support records.
  • Availability during non-business hours, including rotating evening and weekend support.
  • Good knowledge of switching and routing protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of VOICE elements such as SIP, H323, MGCP protocols, signaling, media proxy, routed mode, and Voice VPN tunneling.
  • Ability to analyze network packets using tools like Wireshark to understand issues.
  • Knowledge of VOIP, routers, VPNs, VLANs, voice protocols, and signaling theories.
  • Understanding of protocol specifications (TCP, UDP, ICMP) and route table interpretation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network problems, including packet capture and interpretation using various tools (ping, traceroute).
  • Understanding of higher-level applications transmission (FTP, HTTP, DNS).
  • Basic troubleshooting related to communication and route sharing.
  • Good analytical and communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:

Market knowledge

  • Working on a 24x7 shift pattern within the Network Operations Centre.
  • Continuous monitoring of Voice Communication Networks (SS7, SIP, H323) and Data Networks (TCP/IP, DNS).
  • Ensuring all faults and activation requests are handled to meet Service Level Agreements and follow procedures.
  • Liaising with and directing Field Engineers to manage network and customer faults.
  • Monitoring network traffic (IP path), latency, and capacity planning using NMS and monitoring tools.
  • Fault troubleshooting of broadband (ADSL), DIA, leased lines, MPLS, GMPLS, and VAS (SMPP & Web tools).
  • Communicating with other NOCs and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Handling escalations and serving as a focal point for voice service queries.
  • Maintaining documentation and case histories via trouble ticket systems.
  • Managing daily reports on voice utilization.
