Counseling, Advocacy and Prevention Supervisor This position involves overseeing Counseling, Advocacy, and Prevention (CAP) services, ensuring compliance with program requirements, and managing employee development and training needs. Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This is an overseas position and may require travel to remote or isolated sites. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U. S. Passport. May be required to obtain a VISA depending on the overseas country's laws/regulations. You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel-related purchases. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate: Managing all activities related to Counseling, Advocacy, and Prevention (CAP) services. Overseeing employee developmental needs and providing training to improve job performance. Providing expert-level management and oversight of CAP program services. Serving as the CAP representative at various meetings and committees. Education Applicants must possess: A master's or doctoral degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines. A combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in the field. Four years of appropriate experience demonstrating knowledge of behavioral or social sciences.
