Engineering technician

Duties You will prepare technical reports identifying significant aspects of problems, their causes, and corrections applied. You will provide technical service with on-scene direct fleet support. You will serve as a liaison with technical authorities to resolve technical issues and adjudicate nonconformance. You will communicate with leadership regarding all cost, schedule and quality issues. You will perform oversight for the installation, alignment, adjustments and testing of new or modernized systems. Requirements Must be a US Citizen. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring quality and cost-effective troubleshooting, repairs and providing modifications to surface ships; 2) Recommending interim equipment design changes to be accomplished on site to restore system operations until formal design changes are approved to prevent disruption of operational schedules; 3) Applying technical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and/or practices related to the test and evaluation of items, systems, and equipment associated with ship equipment and systems.
