We are a selective, coeducational, independent Nursery-through-Year 13 school. We are welcoming applications for a Lead Teacher of English to join us in August, 2025. The successful candidate will have experience delivering English to KS3-KS5 students. In addition to teaching, this position will come with Key Stage coordinator responsibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will have experience in delivering English language and literature at GCSE level and English Literature at A Level, with an obvious passion for their subject. Experience or interest in onscreen assessment would be an advantage. He/she will ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of the children in accordance with the school requirements; and ensure that all subjects to be taught provide coverage, progression and continuity. The candidate must be a team player and must have a passion to achieve the highest levels of learning and a culture of excellence for themselves and their students. Applicants will be academically able, with a degree in the subject, and they will also be enthusiastic and collegiate teachers. Involvement in the wider life of this outstandingly successful British School is expected. All teachers are expected to facilitate and maximise the academic progress and pastoral welfare of each assigned student. All teachers have clear teaching, pastoral, and administrative roles as well as an expectation for the commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
