Electrical Technician

This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance.

He should be knowledgeable in plant overall plant systems and process control.

Ability to read and understand complex schematics diagrams, loop diagrams, PLC drawings, standard and codes.

**Required Skills**:

- Employee must be able diagnose faculty electrical and instrument devices and its associated equipment.
- Testing of electrical and control system and maintaining the equipment.
- Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts.
- Maintaining backup and revision documentation for electrical and instrumentation control system.
- Inspect and perform daily maintenance on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, panel view, PLC, industrial network, special cranes and repair or replaces worn out items as required.
- Work with related test instrument including various types of instruments and electrical equipment i.e. hart communicator, signal analyzer, oscilloscope etc.
- Provide technical assistance to operation and maintenance personnel as needed.
- Good knowledge in industrial automation particularly Rockwell Automation system.
- Good technical skills in electrical control systems, VFD, Variable Frequency Drive - used to control speak of motor and protect motor.
- Soft starters: initial starting of the motor soft starter is used to avoid burining the motor. motor controls: Type of motor control, before starting motor takes heavy current hence for motor control soft starter is needed.
- Transmitters: is used in electrical in receiving and transmitting data:

- load cells: how much weight is being carried on the belt. Its calibration is needed hence it is a part of instrument.
- Analyzers: is an instrument to measure the amount of gas. PPM (part per Milam) it analysis the SOX,NOX.
- Sensors: Are used in crane and some are used for flow sensing are electrical.
- Detectors: Flame Detector falls under instrument.
- Signal conditioners: Instrument
- Controllers and final control elements: Electrical system, VFD is for high range motor, with Low range motor controllers are used to manage flow of control.

**Required Experience**
- Experience in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering.
- Verifiable maintenance technical training.
- Understanding of shop mathematics with the use of drawings, specifications, charts, tables and precision measuring instruments.
- Experience working in an industrial environment in a position containing a routine maintenance component.
- 4 to 5 years of heavy industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with plant process and operations, control systems and instrumentation and PLC programs are important.
- Carrying out Electrical Installations, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting and corrective activities on plant equipment, devices, MCC rooms and (Motor Control Room) Panel will only maintain control for motor drives, PLC control related electrical equipment in line with JSP(Job Safety practice) & SOP.
- Read and interpret Electrical Schematic diagrams and manuals.
- Perform task in line with programming & trouble shooting on Control logix, Panel views, VFDs, Soft starters & Motor managers etc.
- Perform task in line with maintenance & trouble shooting of communication networks like Ethernet, Control net & Device net.
