**Position Summary**

The product manager is fully responsible in food and beverage quality requirements, food safety, quality assurance, quality management system, managing costumer complaints and regulatory compliance of food related regulations.

His / her work will ensure for the reputation of quality, safety, hygiene of food and beverage is kept at a highest level to alleviate any health and safety issues for both internal and external costumers.

**Specific Job Description (but not limited to)**:

- Managing quality and safety standards of food products from the point of development, production, packing, labelling, distribution, storage, display and point of sales.
- Identifying market opportunity by identifying costumer desires and consumption patterns through market research such as competitor’s check, benchmarking, etc.
- Coordinate with the food suppliers to determine necessary development of new food product or modifications of existing food products on the basis of data gathered through market research.
- Able to gather relevant market information to be able to correctly formulate adequate product pricing to improve sales and profitability.
- Coordinate with operations and supply chain to ensure that stores has enough product stock levels to meet costumers needs and at the same time, controls food wastage.
- Ensures that products in the warehouse, in coordination with warehouse in charge are rotated to avoid wastage due to expired items and spoilages through effective stock rotation system e.g. FIFO, FEFO.
- Coordinate with maintenance department to ensure that equipment which has something to do with product quality are timely serviced in a planned manner, so as to avoid costly equipment repairs
- quality and safety.
- Ensure that all stores are pest free by coordinating with the appointed pest control service providers and competently assessed the contractor’s performance related to monthly general pest control treatment thereof.
- Any task as required by the general manager and his authorized representative.

**Critical Skills and Competencies Required for this Role**:
**Academic Competence**:

- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, Food Microbiology or related fields.

**Technical Trainings Required**:

- HACCP for Manufacturing Certification - Level 4 by a reputable third party training providers (RSPH, HABC, CIEH) and able to obtained **PASS** certificate.
- Food Safety Certification - Level 4 by a reputable third party training providers (RSPH, HABC, CIEH) and able to obtained **PASS** certificate
- Formal qualification in Auditing techniques / principles by a recognised body such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018 BRC, IFS.
- Obtained a qualification in Trainor’s Training by a recognized body.

**Required Experience & Technical Competence**:

- Equivalent technical experience - at least 5 years’ total experience with minimum of 1 year in management role in the same field.
- Experience working in the Food Industry either retail, manufacturing, or QSR with a working knowledge and understanding of quality management systems.
- Practical knowledge of High Risk / High Care Ready To Eat (RTE) processes and operations. Preferably, a working knowledge of the sandwich, bakery, drinks and cooked meat industries.
- Knowledge of in-country food laws with regards to compositional requirements of foods, food safety and labelling requirements.
- Experience of completing and / or approving product specifications. These specifications will be used as a source of information for labels and POS information including nutrition data, allergen information and marketing claims.
- Experience of implementing and monitoring a supplier approval procedure, experience in supplier auditing/inspection is a must.
- Experience of monitoring Food Safety Standards in store and throughout the distribution chain.
- Experience of investigating, recording, monitoring, and communicating customer complaints and food safety issues.
- Experience of reviewing labels and Point Of Sale information to ensure they meet legal and customer requirements.
- Experience of undertaking supplier performance reviews.
- Experience of undertaking finished product quality assessments against document specifications and liaising with suppliers and customers on the findings and acting accordingly.
