**Job Title: Financial Controller / Head of Finance & Accounts (Full Time)**

**About The Role**: We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our organization. In this crucial role, you will oversee financial operations, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support strategic financial decisions. You will manage group-level financial control across trading, retail, real estate investments, and joint ventures businesses, while leading the Finance & Accounting teams. Additionally, you will handle timely VAT filings, manage relationships with corporate banks, and ensure effective use of financial software (ERP systems), collaborating with third-party vendors for system optimizations and IT improvements across the business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all financial reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Quarterly group reporting of financials to the Board of Directors
- Oversee submission of the periodic VAT filings as per local regulations
- Identify and highlight potential financial risks, proposing solutions for management consideration.
- Assist in the development and oversight of departmental budgets in line with business expectations
- Provide insights based on financial data to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Supervise the finance team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Responsible for effective operation of accounts payable and accounts receivable teams
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors such as Banks and ERP service providers
- Actively complete thorough due diligence of accounts receivable of key trading customers in the Hypermarket, Supermarket and Power Retail segments
- Identify and highlight business gaps or opportunities that can be directed towards business development initiatives

**Required Experience**:

- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (IFRS, ACCA or CMA) is preferred. Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role.
- Minimum **7 years experience**in Bahrain or Middle East region markets with progressive experience in a financial role
- Proven track record of financial leadership, strategic planning, and effective decision-making.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting with excellent command of financial management principles.
- Proficient in using financial software (e.g., ERP systems, accounting software) and MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience dealing with finance and accounts counterparts for Hypermarket, Supermarket and Large Format Retail businesses in Bahrain or Middle East region
- Demonstrated commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and best practices.
