Estimation Engineer

**Position: Estimation Engineer**

**Location**: BAHRAIN

**Experience Required**: 2-4 years in MEP project estimation within the GCC

**Qualification**: Degree in Mechanical Engineering

**Job Summary**:
The Estimation Engineer is responsible for accurately evaluating MEP (Mechanical, & Electrical,) projects, particularly wastewater pumping stations, for cost estimation, tendering, and proposal preparation. This role requires a keen understanding of tender documents, detailed cost assessments, and proactive coordination to prepare competitive bids. The Estimation Engineer will also manage ongoing project valuations and billing, ensuring proper financial tracking and reporting.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Tender Document Analysis**:

- Study and interpret tender documents, project specifications, drawings, and

requirements to understand project scope and constraints.
- Identify technical and financial requirements and coordinate with internal

departments to ensure alignment with tender submissions.

**2. Cost Estimation and Proposal Preparation**:

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP projects, focusing on wastewater

pumping stations.
- Identify material, labor, and overhead costs and perform price evaluations to

create competitive bids.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance

with client specifications.

**3. Ongoing Project Valuation and Billing**:

- Conduct periodic valuations of ongoing projects to track financial progress and

ensure accurate invoicing.
- Prepare billing statements and work closely with project management and

accounts teams to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor project budgets and address any variances or discrepancies in a timely

manner.

**4. Vendor and Supplier Coordination**:

- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations, validate

material costs, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Maintain a network of suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and material

availability.

**5. Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed records of all tender submissions, cost estimates, and project
- related documentation for auditing and future reference.
- Prepare and submit reports to management, summarizing tender outcomes, project valuation, and financial updates.

**6. Stakeholder Communication**:

- Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to clarify project

requirements and resolve estimation queries.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and client discussions to provide technical insights and

ensure accurate proposal submissions.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- **Technical Knowledge**: Strong understanding of MEP systems, with specialized
- knowledge in wastewater pumping stations. Familiarity with GCC construction standards and regulations.
- **Analytical Skills**: Proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost evaluation, and comparative analysis for accurate project costing.
- **Attention to Detail**: High level of accuracy in cost estimation, proposal preparation, and billing.
- **Communication**:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, concise reporting and stakeholder interactions.
- **Computer Skills**: Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with tendering and estimation for MEP projects, specifically in wastewater or similar infrastructure projects within the GCC.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tenders and project valuations.
- Basic understanding of procurement and vendor management for effective cost control.
