Maintenance Supervisor Plant and Machinery

**JOB PURPOSE**:
This role will be mainly responsible for supervising the operation, shifting, maintenance and repair of the municipal asphalt plant and asphalt machinery. Interacts with maintenance team, maintenance departments, Stores and any other related department; monitors machinery and plant status and solves problems. Also, will oversee plant and machinery activities such as - Preventive maintenance, Materials and machinery shifting, Plant and machinery maintenance, Plant inventory arrangement and plant operations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/MAJOR TASKS**:
1. Interpreting, enforcing and carrying out existing methods and procedures relative to plant operation activities.

2. Making occasional contacts with other departmental personnel and contractors relative to plant and machinery operational problems.

3. Gathering and preparing ordinary plant and machinery operating reports and maintaining related records.

4. Schedules and plans Maintenance; initiates maintenance planning, assesses risk, and develops maintenance plan.

5. Plans, assigns and supervises the work of a group of subordinate plant operating personnel and maintenance team engaged in the operation and maintenance of the asphalt plant and machinery.

6. Makes periodic inspections of plant units and machinery to assure proper functioning.

7. Identifying continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities.

8. Performing root cause analysis to identify and assess issues and recommend solutions.

9. Coordinates and interacts with quality team to collect samples for all received raw materials and follow-up with the results.

10. Arrange aggregates according to properties in the plant and maintain inventory.

11. Prepares a variety of reports and maintains related records on plant production, materials received and equipment used in transporting asphalt mixtures.

12. Requisitions all materials and replacement parts needed for your machinery and plant.

13. Recommend different methods that could help to enhance and improve control procedures.

14. Inspects plant and machinery equipment and determines the need for repairs or replacement of equipment.

15. Schedules and plans shifting activities of machinery, materials and equipment.

16. Assists in the development and advancement of subordinates through training and effective use of employee development programs.

17. Develop and maintain technically sound and effective teams.

18. Ensure employee responsibilities and authority are established.

19. Ensure progressive employee training and development including ensuring staff rotation.

20. Ensure staff career development path is formally established and communicated to employees.

**COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**:
**Internal**:Plant Operator, Operational Manager, all company store’s, maintenance team.

**External**:Stakeholders (Partners), Shops and Maintenance Stores, Plants and machinery manufacturer companies.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or in a relevant field or equivalent professional degree.

**EXPERIENCE**:
2-5 years of working experience in a relevant -field, conducting activities and assignments similar to role requirements.

**SPECIAL REQUIREMENT**:
Jobholder may be required to attend to work-related issues outside the office during working hours and weekends.
