**Nurse Required with NHRA License**

A staff nurse is responsible for nursing assessment, observation, provision of safe standard of patient care and evaluation of its results, after coordinating with the Doctors/Physicians in respective departments in the hospital.

Quality care of patients - both out-patient and in-patient care.

**PRIMARY accountabilities**

**I) Clinical Responsibilities**:

- Assesses patients and observes responses to interventions, notified physicians accordingly and completes all patient documentation in a timely manner.
- Initiates and performs a wide range of nursing measures based on patient needs relative to physical and mental comfort, positioning, hygiene, nutrition and hydration and respiratory function.
- Administers and documents medication as per Doctor/Physician orders and assists with infusions, narcotics, and controlled medication as per the policies and procedures of the hospital.
- Provides patient care, patient support and patient teaching according to the required nursing standards, approved competencies and nursing policies and procedures.
- Assists Doctors/Physicians in preparation and explanation of surgeries/procedures to patients, assembles required equipment, supplies, and instruments and then assists physicians with a variety of approved procedures.
- Is aware of all standards and procedures in relation to emergency standards and protocols.
- Should be vigilant and be mentally and physically prepared to handle all emergency situations with Doctors.
- Should contribute to the nursing department by completing all tasks allocated, assisting fellow nurses & supervisors.
- Actively assists in ensuring a safe patient & staff working environment is maintained.
- Is alert to all health & safety hazards and works with all staff to ensure hazards are kept to a minimum.
- Should report all risks & hazards to immediate supervisor or Administration office using the appropriate hospital documentation.
- Utilizes all hospital equipment, supplies and medication in a cost effective and responsible manner.
- Should report all malfunction, misuse and loss to immediate supervisor or Administration office immediately.
- Should be proficient in using all hospital equipment conductive to patient care.
**II) General Responsibilities**
- Ensures all communication with patients, is always professional and friendly.
- Works with the clinical team comprising of Doctors/Physicians, nursing department and the Administration Office to ensure the Patient is always provided a friendly environment.
- Attends meetings, as and when required.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Maintain full awareness of and compliance of Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Participate in Hospital Quality Improvement activities.
- Be aware of all policies, procedures and action plans put in place by Hospital Management for all Hospital Emergency Scenarios e.g. fire, bomb threat etc.
- Performs other tasks and duties within the scope of knowledge, skills and experience required for the post, as assigned by the immediate Manager/supervisor.

**REQUIRED qualifications and EXPERIENCE**
- Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing with no less than three academic years in succession.
- Holds and maintains a valid licensure/board certification in good standing, in own country.
- Should possess all relevant documentation for presentation when required, as to prove eligibility for licensure.
**Competencies, skills, and special knowledge required**:

- Computer knowledge is strongly required.
- Good appearance is needed in such areas of work.
- Must be willing and able to work within multi-culture team.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic is optional.
- Preferred relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
**Working environment**
- Nurse with NHRA License
- Normal outpatient care environment
- Ability to sit, stand or walk 90% of the day
- Must be able to cope with mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position.
- Must be in excellent general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must have good personal attitude and approach towards assigned job role and responsibilities.
- Near vision acuity required for extensive use of PC, Calculator, and reference material.
- Staff must be available to work one or all shifts in department.
- Must always abide by the mandatory personal hygiene standards as per the hospital policies and procedures.
