Nicu Nurse

**Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- To prepare and give immediate care of newborn in delivery room and PR including Cleaning airway, cutting the umbilical cord, proper newborn identification and continued Assessment of neonatal condition, promotion of breast feeding and parent and Infant-parent relationship.
- To assist and provide emergency appropriate resuscitative measures to newborns until Pediatrician/neonatologist arrives.
- To do continuous assessment and monitoring specialized equipment, including incubator, Phototherapy, bili blankets, bili beds, ventilator
- 4.4 Providing Education and support to patient’s families regarding neonatal intensive and postpartum care including breastfeeding, vaccination and care at home.
- To perform ABG/Blood Extraction and IV Cannula insertion.To assist pediatricians/neonatologist procedures such as intubation and umbilical Cauterization.
- Assist pediatrician/ neonatologist for diagnostic test such as lumbar puncture, chest tube Insertion, cauterization. To adhere the administration policy of medication / blood and Blood Products and IV Fluid Therapy according to Pediatrician/Neonatologist order.
- To ensure proper feeding and basic newborn care for healthy full term babies, premature and sick babies.
- To assist and provide emergency resuscitative measure for the immediate care of newborn in delivery room and OR.
- To adhere to policy for safe transport of newborn to the nursery and OR, and transferring of sick Babies to other hospital via transport incubator.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Manama: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
