System Software Engineer Role

Canonical is seeking a talented System Software Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-quality software systems. Your primary responsibility will be to create efficient and scalable software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software systems using modern programming languages such as Python and Go.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of coding quality.
  • Develop automated testing approaches and infrastructure for validating reliability, performance, and resilience of cloud orchestration tools and applications.
  • Enhance continuous integration pipelines for deploying and testing Canonical's cloud native products such as Kubeflow.
  • Deploy, manage, and debug highly distributed systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on system-level design.
  • Strong knowledge of modern programming languages, including Python and Go.
  • Proficient in version control systems such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
