Job Title: Tax Deputy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Finance Department in Manama, Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tax computations, compliance and reporting.

This includes Value Added Tax (VAT), Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT) and supporting Group Tax Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and validate quarterly tax compliance reports.
  • Assist with the computation and review of the Effective Tax Rate (ETR).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for receiving tax queries from users across the group.
  • Manage the VAT invoicing process and gather data for VAT returns.
  • Support in preparation and submission of DMTT and corporate tax returns.
  • Maintain required records for tax compliance.
  • Support tax projects, including data gathering and liaison with consultants.
  • Assist with tax-related research and provide support with all other tax-related work assigned by the Head of Group Taxes and Special Projects.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of tax experience in a Big 4 firm or regional/international bank.
  • Chartered Accountant/ACCA/CPA or other tax-related qualifications/certifications.
  • Advanced PC skills, particularly on spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Experience with VAT, Corporate Taxes, Transfer Pricing rules, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) rules, Global minimum tax, GloBE reporting rules, IFRS, and accounting in banks and FIs.
  • Data visualization tools, data management skills, problem-solving ability, team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
