Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced host/hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing exceptional service, maintaining thorough knowledge of the menu and daily specials, and anticipating and serving guests' requirements at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct uniform standards are followed at all times.
- Provide guests with an enjoyable dining experience by adhering to the outlet's sequence of service.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the restaurant menu and daily specials at all times.
- Anticipate and serve guests' requirements at all times.
- Prepare the outlet for service according to standard operating procedures or specific instructions from the manager.
- Keep service stations constantly cleared and re-stocked during service.
- Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.
- Present menus and explain all menu items and specials of the day.
- Ascertain guest satisfaction and handle any problems, informing a manager of issues and resolutions.
- Report all accidents or guest complaints immediately to a manager.
- Check expiration dates and proper storage of perishable items daily, in accordance with HACCP standards.
- Respond appropriately to hotel emergencies or safety situations.
- Break down buffets, displays, or side stations as needed.
- Attend all necessary briefings and training sessions as instructed by the Operations Manager, Food and Beverage.
- Handle cash and credit card procedures according to accounting guidelines.
Requirements:
- Secondary school education completed.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hospitality-related Degree or Diploma.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience as a host/hostess in a five-star hotel.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Business English at an advanced level.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail.
