We are seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our team based in Bahrain.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create comprehensive estimates for construction projects, considering material quantities, labor costs, equipment requirements, and project timelines.
  2. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and related documents to identify key cost factors and potential risks.
  3. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  4. Utilize industry-specific software and tools to perform takeoffs, cost calculations, and generate detailed estimates.
  5. Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals to clients, ensuring compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
  6. Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying areas for cost savings and recommending control measures.
  7. Work closely with procurement teams to secure competitive pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  8. Negotiate contract terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers, securing favorable terms for the company.
  9. Implement value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality and functionality.
  10. Manage accurate cost databases, historical cost data, and benchmarking information for future reference and continuous improvement.
  11. Support dispute resolution and claims management processes, preparing cost impact assessments and documentation.
  12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting project costs and estimating practices.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications or memberships are a plus.
  2. Proven experience working as a Cost Estimator in the construction industry.
  3. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools for estimating, takeoff, and cost management.
  4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret project specifications and drawings accurately.
  5. Excellent numerical and mathematical abilities, with a sound understanding of cost estimation methodologies and techniques.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  8. Familiarity with relevant measurement standards, codes of practice, and industry regulations.
  9. Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management principles.
  10. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  11. Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
