Lab Manager - Construction Chemicals Engineering Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for providing necessary assistance to the construction team regarding materials submittals, approvals, testing, sampling, etc. The role involves field testing, acceptance of materials, and verifying remedial and corrective measures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop new construction chemical products, including eco-friendly options to meet sustainability trends.
  • Evaluate new products, process technologies, and business opportunities; participate in their implementation.
  • Ensure technologies comply with international standards such as ASTM, EN, and BS.
  • Back-engineer similar products to improve or innovate.
  • Design products according to standard procedures and produce cost-effective components.
  • Lead the team in quality assurance, new product development, and research to support growth.
  • Conduct tests on raw materials following standard procedures.
  • Perform trials and obtain third-party approvals.
  • Collaborate with external laboratories using advanced testing methods like FTIR, HPLC, TGA.
  • Liaise with government bodies and external laboratories.
  • Maintain quality control systems across all PMC site activities.
  • Prepare quality audits and monitor site inspections and testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum ten years of experience in a similar industry
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (reading and writing)
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
