Presales Engineer - IP Network Solutions Specialist

This is a key role that plays a vital part in the development of innovative, client-specific solutions by combining internal capabilities with partner technologies.

As a Presales Engineer - IP Network Solutions Specialist, you will work directly with enterprise customers across various sectors to design robust communication and network solutions that drive business performance.

This is a hands-on, solutions-driven position where you will collaborate closely with sales teams to assess client needs, scope technical requirements, and build proposals that win business. You will interact with technology vendors, negotiate on commercial terms, and integrate partner products with core services to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing Customised IP Network Solutions: Assessing customer requirements with sales teams to create customised IP network solutions that meet client needs and organisational capabilities.
  • Preparing and Presenting Technical Proposals: Preparing and presenting comprehensive technical and commercial proposals that align with client requirements and organisational goals.
  • Building Integrated Solutions: Liaising with OEMs, distributors, and technology partners to build integrated solutions that meet client needs.
  • Negotiating Commercial Terms: Negotiating with vendors to obtain competitive quotations based on Bill of Materials.
  • Advising on Complex Bids: Advising on and contributing to complex, high-value bids that require expertise in IP network solutions.
  • Supporting Productisation: Identifying scalable, repeatable solutions that can be productised for future use.
  • Preparing Profitability Sheets: Preparing profitability and customer information sheets for won deals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Technical Expertise: 4–7 years' experience in a high-tech product/solution environment, with at least 4 recent years in the tech sector.
  • Presales Experience: Proven experience in presales and solution design in a tech environment.
  • IP Network Design: Core expertise in designing IP networks, with a focus on wireline technologies and solid understanding of carrier wireless.
  • Carrier Routing Knowledge: Knowledge of carrier routing, MPLS topologies, AToM, SDWAN, EVPNs, Metro-E, FTTx, SDH, DWDM, and legacy transmission.
  • Professional Certifications: CCNP or higher certification is preferred.
