Role Overview
This position involves working closely with the head chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, including managing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality, and monitoring inventory. Main Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:- Lead, mentor, and train junior pastry chefs, bakers, and kitchen staff to foster a positive and creative work environment.
- Oversee the daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in compliance with local regulations.
- Evaluate and ensure the highest quality and consistency in all pastry products, maintaining attention to detail in both flavor and presentation.
- Regularly review production methods to enhance efficiency without compromising quality.
- Conduct regular tasting sessions and adjust recipes as needed.
- Manage inventory levels for all pastry ingredients and supplies, ensuring availability while controlling waste.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source high-quality ingredients at optimal prices.
- Monitor and control food costs, aligning with the company's financial objectives.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth delivery and timing of pastry items.
- Plan and execute special orders and requests for events, private dining, and seasonal offerings.
- Develop production schedules and delegate tasks to the pastry team, ensuring timely service delivery.
