Audiology Specialist

Role Overview

This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication, speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients with communication difficulties, including those with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, stuttering, and voice disorders.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans to address each patient's needs, goals, and medical condition.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy for patients with communication difficulties.
  • Manage and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia).
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology / Speech Therapy from a recognized university.
  • Valid professional license/registration to practice in Bahrain.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to educate and support patients, caregivers, and staff effectively.

This position requires strong communication skills to effectively educate and support patients, caregivers, and staff. A strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skillset is also essential to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology / Speech Therapy, valid professional licensure, and minimum 3 years' experience in a hospital or long-term care setting. Experience in managing adult neurological conditions is highly desirable.

This role is critical in supporting patients with communication, speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. The Audiology Specialist must stay up-to-date with advances in practices and participate in continuous professional development to ensure compliance with Bahrain health regulations and ethical standards.
