Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Faculty Position

About the Job

We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Industrial and Mechanical Engineering department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, developing curriculum, and engaging in research activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to five courses per semester depending on rank
  • Prepare course syllabus, plan lessons and assignments
  • Assess students' progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work
  • Advise students about which classes to take and how to achieve their goals
  • Work with colleagues to develop or modify the curriculum for a degree or certificate program involving a series of courses
  • Stay informed about changes and innovations in the field of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering
  • Invigilate examinations
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Perform general administration works in relation to teaching and assessments' quality assurance
  • Write research proposals, papers, and other publications
  • Supervise projects/thesis of students
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a minimum of a Master's degree from a recognized institution in a relevant field (Industrial and Mechanical Engineering). Experience teaching Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and/or related programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels is also required.

Candidates with experience in teaching and developing higher education programs in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, or comparable experience in industry, are preferred. A preference will be given to candidates with degrees from reputable institutions and those with experience at higher education level in the United States.

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and relationship building skills with peers, leadership, and external constituents. Knowledge and experience of using Learning Management Systems (LMS) are desirable. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate leadership aligned with the core values of integrity, engagement, excellence, and a desire to make a difference.
