Job Description:

The Vice Dean is a senior administrative position responsible for assisting the Dean in performing their work and duties. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the College of Law.

Main Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Assist the Dean in performing their duties and exercising their powers as delegated">
  • Carry out tasks and duties of the Dean in their absence">
  • Attend meetings, maintain documentation of proceedings and outcomes, and provide opinions and recommendations">
  • Provide administrative support to the college as instructed by the Dean">
  • Coordinate faculty promotion processes and procedures with the Dean">
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of college work and files">
  • Coordinate among academic departments and administrative structures to achieve college goals">
  • FOLLOW UP ON THE APPLICATION OF COLLEGE POLICIES AND WORKING PROCEDURES">
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure they align with approved budgets">
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Dean">

Qualifications and Experience:

">

The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D. degree and ample experience in academia. They should have basic knowledge of laws and regulations governing academic work in Bahrain. Additionally, they should demonstrate good university academic management skills and a good command of Arabic and English (both spoken and written).

Competencies:

">

The successful candidate should possess independence and responsibility, good administrative and organisational skills, strong analytical skills, the ability to prepare reports and plans, and good conversation and communication skills. They should also be able to solve urgent problems, encourage and persuade, and manage time and resources effectively.
