We are seeking an experienced Commis Chef – Bakery to join our team, a luxury hotel brand located in the heart of Manama. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation and work in the bakery kitchen, creating high-quality and creative bakery products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily operation and work in the bakery kitchen.
- Create high-quality and creative bakery products.
- Follow instructions and recommendations from the Executive Sous Chef to complete daily tasks.
- Ensure highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparation and stay up-to-date with new bakery recipes and preparation techniques.
- Coordinate daily requirements in food preparation and actively participate in bakery setup of buffets and special functions.
- Consult and check on daily bakery requirements, functions, and last-minute events.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef in a Bakery.
- Proficient with local rules and regulations involving Health, Safety, and HACCP.
- The strength to lift, push, and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling.
- A good grasp of reading, writing, and basic maths.
- The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol.
- GREAT communication – you'll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to.
