Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Technology Development and Operations to lead the development and IT operations of innovative financial products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To develop and maintain a resilient and scalable IT software infrastructure that supports business operations.
  • To ensure steady expansion and retention of core business through proper business IT operations support.
  • To adhere to strict SLAs with each business partner.
  • To ensure the smooth running of all software systems, core applications, and IT operations.
  • To identify, document, and minimize risks.
  • To ensure business requirements analysis and project management are done properly on any new project.
  • To ensure secure software development and other security practices are followed.
  • To ensure Agile teams follow scrum methodology.
  • To ensure adherence to industry best practices in terms of compliance and disaster recovery.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate operational functional excellence through the development of quality Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure infrastructure and software are resilient to minimize downtime.
  • Supervise technical personnel, including work allocation, training, and problem resolution.
  • Stay current with new technologies, trends, and related practices in the industry.
  • Ensure bespoke developed systems adhere to strict guidelines in terms of design and security.
  • Oversee data protection as required by industry compliance guidelines.
  • Enforce a transparent vendor selection and procurement process.

Job-Specific Accountabilities:

  • Analyze user project proposals, identifies omissions and errors in requirements, and conducts feasibility studies.
  • Serve on a project prioritization committee to prioritize implementation pipeline.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements and advise on alternatives and implications.
  • Oversee the reconfiguration of data centre hardware systems to minimize physical size and hardware footprint.
  • Ensure proper expansion and renewal of IT infrastructure to align with business growth.
  • Plan and coordinate the analysis, design, programming, timely implementation, and testing of IT projects.
  • Review design documentation, requirements analysis, and code for quality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Informally arbitrate between system users when conflicts arise.

Requirements:

  • MSc in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • A clear understanding of the role and responsibilities associated with the IT applications development function.
  • A good understanding of the company's business, the broader industry, and its regulatory environment.
  • The ability to manage multiple Agile teams on software development projects.
  • The relevant experience and qualifications to fulfill the above responsibilities.

Technical Competencies:

  • .NET framework, C#, Python, Kotlin, Swift.
  • Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Kafka, Postgre SQL, Elasticsearch.
  • CI/CD tools (for example Jenkins).Agile / Scrum.
  • Unit and integration testing.
